Shrine Prayers

Shrine Prayers are offered every day in the Holy House. The Rosary is used and offered along with prayers for that day. These have been sent in the form of pilgrims all over the world. There are also prayers for the bereaved and the dead. Prayers of praise and thanksgiving accompany prayers of intercession each and every day.

Your prayers can be offered at Walsingham. Simply send your request using the panel on the right. During the coming week you will be remembered at Shrine Prayers. If you would like to support the work of intercession at the Shrine, please follow the instructions below - Make a donation.

Please keep as simple as possible. Remember to include the full name of the person for whom prayers are asked and the reason.

Use your credit or debit card to donate to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham. Enter an amount to donate and click on NEXT. This will take you to a secure on-line payment site. UK tax payers - don't forget to click 'Yes' in the Gift Aid section.

Members of the Society of Our Lady of Walsingham, Priests Associate and Walsingham Partners can also buy the new SOLW Celebration Badge using this donation facility. Badges cost £6 each (incl. p & p). Please note that the purchase of a badge cannot be Gift Aided. On completion of this payment procedure, please send an email to the Shrine's Membership Secretary (membs@olw-shrine.org.uk) confirming your name and address and that the payment is for the Celebration Badge. Thank you.

The Sisters

Within the Shrine grounds is the Priory where the Sisters of the Society of S. Margaret live a common life. Prayer is an important part of their lives too. It is the essence of their work. As well as the Daily Mass the sisters share in four services of prayers (known as Offices) and spend 90 minutes alone each day praying for many different people and causes.

The nuns work in the Sacristy (assisting in the preparation of worship) and do a great deal of pastoral work with pilgrims in the Shrine and as they receive the sprinkling at the well. They are also involved in educational work at the Shrine with schoolchildren - often very interested and intrigued by the idea of following such a selfless course in life - and in the six churches in surrounding parishes.
