The Families Pilgrimage 2018

The Mystery of the Marian Beads!

The Families Pilgrimage was held from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th October 2018. We spent the week learning about The Rosary.

We began with the Joyful Mysteries on Monday evening, where we enjoyed the first visit to the Holy House. Each family lit a candle, which burnt throughout the rest of the week.

On Tuesday we thought about the Sorrowful Mysteries. We began at Roman Catholic Shrine and then walked the Holy Mile back to the Anglican Shrine where we had Mass. In the afternoon the families enjoyed a variety of crafts which included rosary making, making prayer candles, decorating a box to keep our rosary in and decorating a giant cross! In the evening we met in the Garden of Gethsemane (Shrine Church!)  for Healing and Reconciliation. As well as laying on of hands, anointing and confession, there were a variety of prayer stations around the Shrine Church.

The Glorious Mysteries were the theme for Wednesday! As well as Mass, the families took part in a Mystery Walk around the Shrine and the village to try and work out who stole the priceless rosary!

Thursday was a day off and many families enjoyed spending time with each other at the seaside or other local attractions. Charlie Cheesecake provided the entertainment on Thursday night, with a disco and some amazing balloon modelling.

The week ended on Friday morning with Mass and the Last Visit.
