During the coronavirus pandemic, when many of the faithful were unable to attend worship in their own churches, the Shrine responded positively to a request by The Society to temporarily live-stream Mass every Sunday from the Shrine Church. It has been a joy and a privilege to contribute to the spiritual needs of pilgrims in this way.
Now that restrictions are gradually being lifted, we are being encouraged to gather once again as God’s people in our local churches for worship. The Shrine is also looking forward to the welcome return of pilgrims and to beginning its Weekend and Mid-Week Pilgrimage Programme as soon as possible.
In the light of these developments, the Shrine will be returning to its usual pattern of daily worship from Sunday 2nd May. This means that the 9am Sunday Mass will no longer be offered in the Shrine Church. However, we are pleased to announce that from 2nd May onwards the Shrine Mass will be live-streamed each Sunday at 7.30 am. Shrine Prayers will also continue to be live streamed daily from the Holy House at 6pm.
It is our intention to live-stream special services and events at the Shrine throughout the year. In the coming weeks, pilgrims can look forward to a live-streamed Sung Mass on Pentecost Sunday 23rd May at 9am and the National Pilgrimage on Monday 31st May. Details of these and other live-streamed celebrations will be made available on the Shrine website and other social media.
The Shrine greatly appreciates the continued prayers and support of pilgrims, and we are looking forward to welcoming many of you once again to England’s Nazareth.
May God bless you and Our Lady of Walsingham pray for you.
