Assumption 2019
The Assumptiontide festivities began on Wednesday afternoon with a concert, in S. Mary’s Parish Church, given by the choir Cantores Mariae under the direction of Nick Kerrison, the Shrine’s Director of Music. This was followed by the Assumptiontide Lecture by Fr William Davage – former librarian of Pusey House, Oxford.
Solemn Vespers & Benediction was celebrated at the Shrine Church before the evening Ecumencial Torchlight Procession from St Mary’s to the Roman Catholic Church of the Annuciation and the Anglican Shrine. The Assumptiontide festivities concluded with the Parish Mass and Procession at St Mary’s on Sunday.
