Pilgrimage for Healing and Renewal @ Home 2020

Monday 31st August

"When I heard you were ill, I decided to go on pilgrimage to Walsingham ... for you."
A pilgrim travelling to Walsingham in 1484, Paston Letters

From its very beginnings in 1061 AD, pilgrims have come to Walsingham to ask Mary for help, healing and to pay homage to her, and there are innumerable testimonies of miracles, cures and answers to prayers over many hundreds of years.

The Pilgrimage for Healing and Renewal is traditionally held on August Bank Holiday and attracts many hundreds of pilgrims to the Anglican Shrine. Last year's pilgrimage was held outdoors at the Altar of the Mysteries of Light on a glorious summer day. Sadly it isn't possible for us to hold such a large public gathering this year with the Covid-restrictions in place. Instead, we will be celebrating the 2020 Pilgrimage for Healing and Renewal online.

Please join us on Monday 31st August for our Pilgrimage for Healing and Renewal @ Home where we hope you will be able to experience some of the beauty and holiness of this special and uplifting day.

Make an offering

As a national centre of pilgrimage and a registered charity, the Shrine’s income is wholly reliant on the income we receive from our pilgrims and visitors and the money raised through offerings and appeals. Donations of all sizes make a real difference to the life of the Shrine and the outreach work and pastoral care that we are able to deliver.

Services will be streamed live and will be available to watch again.
