The Family Pilgrimage 2021
The 2021 Family Pilgrimage took place from Monday 25th October to Thursday 28th October and was called 'Angels of Light'.
During the pilgrimage families spent time together exploring the theme of angels. The First visit explored the story of the Annunciation when the Angel Gabriel visited Mary and also why this story is important at the Shrine.
Tuesday's service began at the Roman Catholic Shrine and our families walked the Holy Mile back to into Walsingham, treading in the footsteps of countless pilgrims before them. The Mass then continued at the Anglican Shrine. In the afternoon there were various crafts and activities to take part in, which included exploring the Shrine gardens to look for hidden angels! During our evening service pilgrims took part in Sprinkling, laying on of hands and a variety of interactive prayer stations.
Wednesday morning's Mass looked at the story of the angels appearing to the shepherds and this was followed by a free afternoon to explore the local area. The day ended with a very energetic disco which included lots of games and a limbo competition!
The week ended with Mass on the Thursday morning, which was followed by the Last Visit.
If you would like to join us next year for our fun-packed pilgrimage this will take place from Monday 24th - Thursday 27th October 2022 and full details will be available nearer the time.
