Our Lady of Walsingham becomes a Feast Day
It is with great joy that the Shrine welcomes the news that the only Feast of Our Lady proper to England, Our Lady of Walsingham, is no longer simply an obligatory Memorial but now a Feast Day, following a decree by the Vatican last week. It will be celebrated as such for the first time on 24th September this year. This Shrine, which was once the focus of Pilgrimage in a land called ‘Our Lady’s Dowry’, is now restored to the prominence it enjoyed for so long. I hope that this will encourage many more pilgrims to come and visit the Shrine where we pray daily for the Conversion of England to the Faith and to experience here a change which transforms their lives.
