100th Anniversary Day: Mass of Thanksgiving
- Date:
- Wednesday 6th July
More information
This year, the Shrine celebrates the 100th anniversary of it’s restoration by Fr Hope Patten. On 6th July 1922, very soon after his induction as Vicar of Walsingham the previous year, Fr Patten set up the image of Our Lady of Walsingham in the Guild Chapel of the Parish Church. It marked the moment when pilgrims began to return to once again to to this ancient and important place of pilgrimage. That new statue, which we call the Image of Our Lady of Walsingham, is now in the Holy House, visited by many thousands over the past Century.
Due to space, we sadly cannot invite everyone in person, but our Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving on Wednesday 6th July will be available via live-stream and can be view by clicking here.
